The trio's latest song critiques society’s refusal to care for those in need
Australian post-punk trio Cable Ties have released their first new music since 2020 with a personal critique of society’s refusal to care for those in need.
Out on Merge Records and Poison City Records, ‘Perfect Client’ is a searing takedown of systems that have ‘nowhere for you to go’.
Singer and guitarist Jenny McKechnie explained: “The song voices my frustration about the lack of adequate care available to someone experiencing addiction and complex mental health issues within our under-resourced healthcare system.”
McKechnie, drummer Shauna Boyle and bassist Nick Brown have been touring Europe with OFF! and play a final date with the hardcore supergroup at tomorrow’s (Wednesday 8 February) Moth Club in London.
They’re following up that appearance with a free London show on Thursday 9 February at the Seabright Arms and then they’re planning to head to the US later this year.
