This isn't a comeback song - it's a powerful statement of musical and personal intent ⚔️
Los Angeles outfit The Interrupters return after four years with a video for their triumphant new single ‘Warrior Spirit‘! This new wave-inspired track is rooted in themes of resilience and grit, and was inspired by vocalist Aimee Interrupter‘s mother, telling her to be strong in the face of adversity as a kid. Aimee shares: “Everyone is usually fighting some kind of battle that no one else can see, but within each of us lies a warrior spirit that begs us to find our own fearlessness.”
Synths and syncopated rhythms showcase the band’s effortless ascent as alternative breakouts on ‘Warrior Spirit‘. Guitarist Kevin Bivona tells us: “This was a super fun collaboration with so many musicians we admire. We created this song with Tim Armstrong, Jesse Michaels, Travis Barker, and Brett Gurewitz. It was a big dance party in the studio every time this track played. It’s got that Ska upbeat but we’re also tipping our hat to our favorite early 80s new wave bands”.
Through acclaimed releases, relentless touring, and a reputation for explosive live performances, The Interrupters have built a devoted global following while carrying the torch for a new generation of fans through uplifting anthems rooted in resilience and strength. It’s exciting to hear they have new music on the horizon!
The Interrupters have also announced a massive 2027 North American tour spanning more than 30 dates across the US and Canada. The tour will also feature the first-ever live performances from Doom Regulator, the Tim Armstrong and Jesse Michaels led project, rounded out by bassist Spencer Pollard (Trash Talk) and drummer Joey Castillo (The Bronx, Circle Jerks). This marks Armstrong and Michaels’ first collaboration since Operation Ivy – the seminal band that laid the foundation for the Ska-Punk movement. Across select dates, The Interrupters will also be joined by an impressive supporting cast including: The Aquabats, labelmates RAT BOY, The Mainliners, The Bandulus, The Chin Chins, and J & Nicki Bonner, making the tour a celebration of the Punk, Ska, and alternative communities.
