Italian electronic post-punk artist SOLO 1981 (frontman of Acid Brains) set to drop double single
The solo project of Stefano Giambastiani – vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and frontman of Acid Brains – SOLO 1981 has, since 2014, carved out a distinct space blending electronic textures, alternative rock energy and post-punk atmospheres.
Double single ‘Saturday Night / Crazy Man‘ will be released on March 20th via Karma Field Records and Wanikya Records. These tracks are lifted from his recently released album, ‘V_Weird‘, which dropped on February 20th, 2026.
Where much of ‘V_Weird‘ leans into introspective and poetic territory, ‘Saturday Night / Crazy Man‘ reveals its rockier, wilder and more direct side. Both tracks are sung in English, the only English-language songs on the album, bringing a sharper, more immediate edge while retaining their emotional depth.
‘Saturday Night / Crazy Man‘ highlights SOLO 1981’s ability to merge danceable energy with post-punk tension and alternative rock bite. SOLO 1981 explores the complexities of the human soul and modern society through a language that shifts between poetic subtlety and direct confrontation, always sincere, always personal.
Rock out on a trip into the dark, danceable and hypnotically rhythmical world of SOLO 1981‘s ‘Saturday Night (Tonight)‘:

Soul Asylum, London Tufnell Park Dome, 9th June 2026
It’s crazy to think that, back in the day, Soul Asylum played Brixton Academy off the back of their 1992 breakthrough album ‘Grave Dancers Union’
Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
