Punk legend releases the soundtrack to accompany his incredible book!
As many of you know, Charlie Harper of the UK Subs has written his autobiography ‘An Anarchy Of Demons’, which was released on 5th September 2025 via Earth Island Books. I had the absolute pleasure of reviewing it last year.
He has since released a soundtrack to go alongside his book. You can get the CD for free when you purchase the book via Earth Island Books, or you can buy the CD separately via Engineer Records.
As I had written a review of the book, I was able to get the CD sent to me for free, for which I am very grateful. I thought it was appropriate that I review it!
This soundtrack to Charlie’s autobiography is so unique and different to anything I’ve ever heard! There’s not just music on here, Charlie also reads some snippets of his book from different chapters. And it’s not just UK Subs playing on here, there’s Urban Dogs too! And of course, Charlie has some solos and guest vocals on here.
Such an interesting and fun soundtrack to listen to. So unique, and I absolutely love hearing Charlie’s voice when he’s reading parts of his book. He has such a friendly and calming voice, and he keeps me interested! He is such a great storyteller, not just on paper, but in his voice too!
I am so happy I have this CD. What a way to start the new year! I highly recommend getting this CD, and of course the book too! I don’t want to spoil anything else, but all I will say is it’s worth a listen! So, what are you waiting for? Go get a copy!

I’ve been going to gigs since I was 18 years old, and have loved them ever since. They are my second home. I enjoy discovering new bands, meeting punks of different ages, and learning more about the scene. I sing, play guitar, and learning the drums. Punk for life!
