Punk power and raw, relatable lyrics combine to make a record you really must hear!
After touring through countries such as Germany, England, France, Poland, Portugal, Scotland and Spain throughout 2025, Grippers somehow found time to record their third album, ‘Disobedient Mental Attitude’, which dropped on February 6th 2026 on digital platforms.
This new work, which showcases a fresh sound for the Madrid-based band, with excellent audio production by Txus Lozano at Circle Pit Records, contains eight new songs and a special collaboration with Aimee, vocalist of The Interrupters, on the track ‘Never Say Goodbye.’
Grippers are: Rachel (vocals & bass), Ale (guitar & backing vocals) and Félix (drums).
We want to rock’n’roll into ‘Revolution‘ with Grippers! Railing against the “lies and misery” generated by governments, we agree “Their time has come”. Rachel‘s bass bounces and booms throughout this excellent starting track.
Punk banger ‘My Time‘ sees Ale‘s guitar soar across Félix‘s frantic beats, while Rachel sings an anthemic song about taking autonomy over your own life.
Heads will be bobbing to ‘Don’t Worry About Me‘, a guitar-driven rocker about enjoying your independence. Rachel’s voice takes a grittier tone on this catchy tune.
‘Up Your Voice‘ is a rallying call to speak out, to not stay invisible. An upbeat and supportive garage rock song.
Grippers are joined by one of my favourite vocalists – Aimee Interrupter – on ‘Never Say Goodbye‘, and this great track has The Interrputers magic touch all over it! A beautiful guitar solo in the break complements the vocals, which are as brilliant as expected! Another sing-along punk anthem.
‘Red Wine and Roses‘ has a folk-punk chorus, spat out with venom at the broken promises of a liar.. More superb bass work from Rachel makes me want to see the band play this stomping track live!
Single release ‘Spit in Your Face‘ is insanely good! That backstabbing ‘friend’ who smiles to your face but tries to destroy you – this song is about them. Lines “I’ll take your mask, And hit your back…” and “You want me dead, And I spit in your face” channel rage into a memorable piece of the pithiest punk rock.
Album closer ‘Uncle Stu‘ starts slower, but soon revs up! Great guitar work from Ale throughout, including another smart solo midway, and powerful drumming from Félix that surely knocked the kit loose from its moorings..
The tricky third album? Not for this band! Grippers are loud and proud, and so they should be of this epic effort! Punk power and raw, relatable lyrics combine to make ‘Disobedient Mental Attitude’ a record you really must hear.
In March, Grippers will kick off a tour that will take them to various countries and
festivals, including Rebellion Festival in Blackpool for its 30th anniversary. Dates below and HERE
‘Disobedient Mental Attitude’ will be distributed through the Potencial Hardcore label, thanks to Fernando Potencial, and will be available on vinyl and CD in the summer. In the meantime, you can stream the album digitally via your favourite service.

Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
