Pop-punk band with a modern and genre-bending sound!
Based in Portland, Maine, Broadwing are a pop-punk trio. The band originally formed back in 2015 as a duo with Dave Swillum and Ethan, releasing EP ‘Nomad’ in 2019. Ethan left the duo project, turning it into a solo project for a while. In 2022 Gage Gallant joined, with Zach Zyla joining in 2023. The band are releasing their debut album ‘Duck and Cover’ which drops today, 16th April 2026. The album is produced by Tom Denney, ex-guitarist for A Day To Remember, who also features on an album track himself.
Meet Broadwing:

Gage Gallant was the drummer in Dave’s high school hardcore band I For An Eye. Gage and Dave linked back up in 2022 and wrote tracks ‘This Year’ and ‘I DNT WNT 2 B ANYONE’.
Broadwing wrote their first track for the album ‘Repeat’ back in 2023, which features Tom Denney. They flew to Florida to shoot the music video:
The band released the single ‘Same Old Psycle’ back in 2024 which features Grant Kemp and Lolitslea. Their next release was ‘Goddamn’ on 19th August 2025, accompanied with a music video:

Final single from their debut album ‘New England Baby’ was released on 22nd January 2026 with a music video:
It’s that time again…the review! Broadwing have blended pop-punk, alt-rock, hip-hop, and hyperpop, and to be honest, I’m not a fan of the hip-hop parts. I’ve said it before, I love when bands take risks, so Broadwing have caught my attention with that for sure! I love the authentic pop-punk with hints of alt-rock and hardcore, they’re nostalgic yet modern at the same time. Some of the tracks are catchy and easy to sing along with.
Their track ‘Moshpit’ is a favourite track on the album for me. It’s hard to choose just one favourite, I like a lot of the songs, but this one in particular caught my attention with both its name and the music. I love a mosh pit, they’re fun as fuck! The track starts off light with that authentic pop-punk vibe, but then gets heavier with hardcore energy, making it feel like you’re in a mosh pit nearer the end!
Overall, I really enjoyed this album, and I look forward to seeing what else this band has in stock! Go check out ‘Duck and Cover’ – streaming HERE and on CD or cassette HERE
