Pop-punk band with a modern and genre-bending sound!
Based in Portland, Maine, Broadwing are a pop-punk trio. The band originally formed back in 2015 as a duo with Dave Swillum and Ethan, releasing EP ‘Nomad’ in 2019. Ethan left the duo project, turning it into a solo project for a while. In 2022 Gage Gallant joined, with Zach Zyla joining in 2023. The band are releasing their debut album ‘Duck and Cover’ which drops today, 16th April 2026. The album is produced by Tom Denney, ex-guitarist for A Day To Remember, who also features on an album track himself.

It’s that time again…the review! Broadwing have blended pop-punk, alt-rock, hip-hop, and hyperpop, and to be honest, I’m not a fan of the hip-hop parts. I’ve said it before, I love when bands take risks, so Broadwing have caught my attention with that for sure! I love the authentic pop-punk with hints of alt-rock and hardcore, they’re nostalgic yet modern at the same time. Some of the tracks are catchy and easy to sing along with.
Their track ‘Moshpit’ is a favourite track on the album for me. It’s hard to choose just one favourite, I like a lot of the songs, but this one in particular caught my attention with both its name and the music. I love a mosh pit, they’re fun as fuck! The track starts off light with that authentic pop-punk vibe, but then gets heavier with hardcore energy, making it feel like you’re in a mosh pit nearer the end!
Overall, I really enjoyed this album, and I look forward to seeing what else this band has in stock! Go check out ‘Duck and Cover’ – streaming HERE and on CD or cassette HERE

I’ve been going to gigs since I was 18 years old, and have loved them ever since. They are my second home. I enjoy discovering new bands, meeting punks of different ages, and learning more about the scene. I sing, play guitar, and learning the drums. Punk for life!
