Psst! Want to catch this movie before anyone else? Get to London on Sunday!
To celebrate this momentous anniversary, the new ‘50 Years of Punk‘ documentary traces the explosion of punk on London’s Kings Road, and is the most authentic insider account so far of punk’s evolution and legacy by the artists and people who lived it. Fifty years on, punk’s core values of individuality, creativity, authenticity and freedom are more relevant than ever. Punk was never just about the music – it is a way of life.
‘50 Years of Punk‘ features interviews and footage with Hugh Cornwell, Dave Vanian, Vivienne Westwood, Rat Scabies, Gaye Advert, Richard Jobson, Glen Mattlock, Jah Wobble, Terry Chimes, Tony James, Viv Albertine and many many more.
The movie is directed by Mark Sloper (‘Billy Fury: The Sound Of Fury’, ‘Sid! By The People Who Knew Him’, ‘The Story of Skids: Scotland’s No.1 Punk Band’).
There are two special preview screenings at the ActOne cinema in London this Sunday 28th June – starting at 2:45pm and 3.30pm – both followed by a Q&A with ex-The Clash drummer Terry Chimes (who features in the film) and director and artist Mark Sloper. The film will then be released in UK cinemas in early September.
