The younger generation show us how it’s done with fearless and direct tracks!
Montreal’s sixteen-year-old punk trio General Chaos formed back in 2022 when they were only twelve years old, playing sets at Pouzza Fest to all-ages rooms across Québec and Ontario. They’ve shared stages with Propagandhi, Vulgaires Machins, and Apes of the State. Their music is a mix of punk rock, melodic punk, skate punk, and political punk.
General Chaos released their debut album ‘Outta My Way’ back in 2024 and are back with a bang, releasing their second album, ‘Can’t Please ‘Em All’ on 8th May 2026 via Stomp Records with thirteen tracks.
The album was recorded in three days at Le Stuzzio in Montreal. It was recorded and mixed by Ryan Battistuzzi, mastered by Marc-André Beaudet, and produced by Fred Jacques of The Sainte Catherines.

Now on to the review! You can tell this band are influenced by Rancid from the first listen, which is obviously not a bad thing, Rancid are one of my absolute favourite punk bands of all time! So, I definitely already love this band. The album is described as having Rancid’s punch, Descendents’ discipline, early Green Day’s snap, Social Distortion’s structure, and Propagandhi’s sharper political edge, with which I definitely agree. It’s such a unique mix!
Full of high-energy, rawness, and melodic harmonies with fast, sharp, and hook-heavy tracks which you can not only sing but shout along to. Tight guitar riffs, hard-driven basslines, and explosive drums fill the album, making it hard to just sit still while listening. I have to say, they are very talented for their ages. I am impressed by Rémi Jacques’ drumming in particular, as I’m learning how to play the drums myself, he’s quite inspirational.
General Chaos are direct, confrontational, and show a lot of frustration towards political dysfunction. Fresh and fun, they show us that the younger generation know what they’re doing! I’m still a part of the younger generation myself, being only 30 years old, but it’s so great that even younger people are getting passionate about punk! They are a fearless band, saying it how it is and being extremely blunt. I love that! I am proud of the younger generation of punks!
