Beautiful - Broken – Dangerous: The Glam Punk Goth ’n’ Roll outlaws return with their most grandiose, theatrical and feral statement yet
The vanilla music industry has had it easy for too long. While the safe and the sanitized fight over shrinking scraps of relevance, Gypsy Pistoleros are building something far more dangerous… ‘Dark Faerie Tales: A Fairytale for the Damned‘ isn’t retro posturing, nor is it industry cosplay. This is high-voltage, gothic-glam punk with venom in its veins. Following the success of ‘Church of the Pistoleros‘ – hailed as one of 2025’s most fearless and eclectic rock albums – Gypsy Pistoleros have conjured something even bolder: a dark fairytale for the damned, a love letter to the beautiful and broken, and a twisted hymn for the strange of heart.
Forged in the outlaw bloodline of The Damned, Hanoi Rocks, Killing Joke, and The Cult – and supercharged with the modern insurgency of YUNGBLUD, Gypsy Pistoleros don’t follow trends – they summon storms! Produced and co-written by long-time sonic conspirator Dave Draper (Michael Monroe, Ginger Wildheart, The Wildhearts, Therapy?, Elvana), ‘Dark Faerie Tales’ is a widescreen collision of Glam excess / Punk danger / Gothic theatre / Street-level attitude. It doesn’t politely knock on the door – it kicks it off the hinges…

Gypsy Pistoleros are:
Gypsy Lee Pistolero – Vocals
Kerry Pistolero White – Bass & B.Vox
Shane Pistolero Sparkz – Guitar & B.Vox
Chris Pistolero Hopton – Drums
‘Dark Faerie Tales: A Fairytale for the Damned‘ unfolds like a dark fairytale – a church burns, its followers scatter, and the story resurfaces as ritual and legend. It’s about inherited rebellion, songs as survival, and the cult that grows from apocalyptic destruction. Myth gives way to forest ritual, where belief mutates, memory lingers, and music becomes a form of magick…
Title track ‘Dark Faerie Tales‘ sets the tone for the album. It rocks hard, mixes up the genres throughout, and enignmatically draws you into the chaos of being “lost in a dark fairytale”. Eager to hear more, the equally compelling ‘My One Desire, Burn It Up‘ has us hooked with its Suzi Quatro-esque melody and sharp vocals.
A rallying cry for the disillusioned, ‘King of Almost Everything‘ cuts deep into the mythology of modern authority. A more contemporary rocker with a hint of Oi!, its uptempo beat belies the loneliness of its subject.
‘She’s Getting Stranger‘ is more downbeat. The isolation of being different and the subsequent danger of developing a twisted psyche are painted vividly in this song.
We’re heading deeper into the shadows in ‘Take My Hand to Nightmare Land‘, as a lullaby distorts into something darker… The guitar work is superb in this one!
What lies ‘Behind The Mask‘? There are false impressions and illusions all around us, illustrated dramatically in this number with its fast-changing, swirling melodies.
‘I’m The Prince of the Damned‘ is a dark, swaggering hard rock anthem steeped in gothic menace and glam-punk bravado. With massive riffs, venom-laced vocals, and a hook-laden sleazy chorus, it dives into corruption, temptation, and inner demons, all with cinematic intensity.
A song for those who’ve suffered in a noisy bar, if your head is ‘Rattling‘ you’ll relate! A touch of Americana mixes in with Folk and Blues in this unique offering.
‘I Whisper Goodbye‘ certainly isn’t a quiet song! An emotional encounter with a stranger gives the tale another twist, as the Pistoleros wonder who will remember them when it all ends? Last track on the album, ‘The Ghost of Baby Strange‘ blends electronica with guitar-driven rock in a final lament to a lost spirit…
Gypsy Pistoleros have conjured up an epic album, which more than lives up to its promises. Join them on this wild, strange, emotional musical rollercoaster!

Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
