The February 2026 update from Punk Rock Creatives Podcast!
Season 2 of Punk Rock Creatives Podcast has begun – now unleashed into the digital world. Lara and Trev from Active Slaughter’s episode was downloaded at lightning speed within hours of its release, which I found seriously impressive. This season has kicked down the door and demanded your attention from the get-go.
All of the interviews are pre-recorded, and this season many of them have moved from general chats into some hard-hitting topics. Some of the conversations coming up include homophobia and domestic abuse. There will also be some lighter-hearted chats in between these episodes.
This is a community podcast, and the more challenging topics are there to raise awareness, signpost help and support for those who may need it, and hopefully ensure that anyone listening feels a little less alone.
Punk Rock Creatives Is Imperfect by Design
There’s no sound engineer and no polished podcast studio surrounded by microphones. We run on a shoestring budget, with most interviews held in my youngest child’s bedroom. One of the most compelling threads running through the podcast is the celebration of imperfection. If you’re lucky, you might hear Loric from Rage DC in the background lugging an amp from one room to another, getting ready for a gig!
Guest speakers openly talk about learning from scratch, creating with tiny budgets, running on borrowed energy because you’re working a rubbish job to make ends meet, and embracing the rough edges that make punk feel alive. By its nature, Punk Rock Creatives Podcast highlights the beauty of mistakes and the necessity of doing things your own way. For listeners – whether artists themselves or lovers of the culture – it’s a reminder that punk is at its best when it’s raw, human, and unpolished.
The podcast captures that communal heartbeat: friendships built in sweaty rooms, collaborations and mutual respect formed over time, and surviving because people show up and put in the work. In a world where alternative culture is constantly commodified, Punk Rock Creatives Podcast – and the wonderful people involved – are helping to keep DIY ethics alive. It celebrates craft not as a product, but as a form of connection. We’re not just documenting a scene – we want everyone to feel welcome, as long as they bring their authentic selves..
Active Slaughter: Starting the Season with Fire and Fury
We kicked things off with Lara and Trev from Active Slaughter, discussing the horrific genocide in Palestine – because apparently we don’t believe in “soft launches.” Their passion, political clarity, and absolute refusal to sugar-coat anything was exactly the kind of punk energy the world needs. The episode was heavy and urgent – a reminder that punk isn’t just noise; it’s a call to action wrapped in feedback, heart, and fury.
They have also released a fundraising compilation for a family in Gaza, available via Active Slaughter’s Bandcamp.
Franck from Corpus Delicti: From Early Influences to the UK Tour
Next up was Franck from Corpus Delicti, who might genuinely be one of the most knowledgeable and passionate people about sound recording we’ve spoken to. We talked about the band’s history, their recent UK tour, and how the love and support from fans continues to ignite them musically. Franck spoke about his respect and admiration for the creatives around him and how they influence his work.
We also discussed filming ‘Room 36‘ in his flat with artist Jean-Luc Verna (an artist well worth checking out if you’re into visual and performance art). Apparently Franck’s cat was very confused by the situation but thoroughly enjoyed all the fuss from the crew. It was brilliant to see Franck play with the rest of the band at The Garage for the last date of the tour. It really was an excellent set – and so good to dance and get lost in the music.
Harlow Punk History Goes Festival-Sized
Then came the Essex Podcast Festival, where we had the honour of sharing the stage with Newtown Neurotics’ Steve Drewett and punk poet Cherry B – giving Harlow’s punk heritage the spotlight it deserves. It was our first time doing a podcast festival, but there we were live, visible, not hiding behind a microphone for once – and somehow managing not to have a full meltdown! Cherry and Steve were incredible guests and brilliant to hang out with.
The organisers were absolute gems – supportive, warm, and skilled at keeping podcasters calm without needing to provide emotional-support biscuits. Thanks to painstaking planning (and backup plans for the backup plans), we made it, it was such a good experience and now I am ready for another potential live podcast or interviewing experience.
The First-Ever Punk Rock Creatives Compilation – Out Now!
This season also marks a massive milestone: The release of the very first Punk Rock Creatives Compilation, in collaboration with Dammit Records. Every penny raised goes to Protected Paws Animal Rescue, an organisation doing incredible work for animals who need love, medical care, and protection. I got involved with Protected Paws after adopting my beautiful cat Alistair, who had been living in a bag. He has now bloomed into a fully grown, mischievous cat thanks to the intervention of Kerry and the team.

Season 2 has already given us political fury, brilliant alternative artistry, unexpected feline cameos, and the chance to bring local punk history to a wider audience — and we’re only just getting started.

Podcaster Marie hosts a regular Punk interview show: “I like chatting to people and listening to their creative journeys, and I like punk! It’s a huge part of who I am, and putting the two together, and talking to other creatives just seems to work.” She joined Lost Cherrees as vocalist in 2012, and after a break has recently stepped onto the stage as a solo performer. Marie is a Graphic Designer and a Special Educational Needs advocate.
