Old school punk band bring out their authentic rebellious side!
From Basingstoke and Portsmouth, UK, Geezapunx are a cheeky blend of authentic and rebellious 70’s old school punk. They originally formed back in 2012 and have changed their lineup a few times over the years. They have released their latest EP ‘Banned Practice’, announcing it on Facebook on 17th November 2025. I was the first customer, buying this EP at a gig on 8th November 2025.

Meet the current lineup of Geezapunx:
Neil Duncan – Guitar and vocals
Andy Matthews – Guitar and vocals
Del Thomson – Bass and backing vocals
Danny Webster – Drums and backing vocals
Andy Matthews joined the band on their 9th lineup change in January 2024. He has also supported Geezapunx 15 times while playing in 5 Go Mad, so knew the band for years before joining them.

‘Banned Practice’ consists of 4 studio tracks, plus 3 bonus live tracks. The studio tracks were recorded at Issuepunkstudios in the summer of 2025, while the live tracks were recorded at the Lounge Bar in Alton, UK, on 5th September 2025. Andy quoted: “You might find ‘Banned Practice’ is very similar writing style to 5 Go Mad (it would be cos I wrote it)!”

Now it’s that time again…the review! I definitely agree with Andy that the writing style is similar to 5 Go Mad. Both Andy and Neil share the lead vocals, very rough and growly at times (which is a good thing!), and sounds like proper old school punk. The songs are fun and catchy, making you want to dance and skank so much!
The live track ‘Tourettes’ starts with Danny shouting different swear words, which helps introduce the song perfectly. It’s a hilarious and fun song to sing along with! The live tracks are really well recorded, making it feel like you’re there at the gig with them. The whole band know exactly what they’re doing, bringing loudness, rebellion, and authenticity!
The whole EP is extremely well written (well done Andy!), and I highly enjoyed it. If you want to get yourself a copy, then pop Neil Duncan a message via the band’s Facebook, or pick one up at a gig!
