Garage punk band unveil their first full length album with catchy and relatable tracks!
Originally forming back in 2022, The Puncturists are a Yorkshire-based, female fronted garage punk band, who have recently released their first full studio album ‘I’m Not Alright’ on 1st November 2025.
‘I’m Not Alright’ consists of 11 songs, including a slightly longer version of recent single ‘55‘, and showcases where they are as a band, as well as looking forward to the direction they’re going in.

This lineup has been together for approximately 18 months. Pat tells us “We’ve been working on this album for most of the year. The drum tracks were laid down on a freezing cold February Sunday at the Chantry Brewery, Rotherham (yes, really!!!) which doubles as a venue/performance space and has the most incredible acoustics, perfect for capturing the drums.”
“The rest was done bit by bit over the following months at Orion Studios in Rotherham and but for “real life” rearing its ugly head at various times, would have been completed sooner. However, we all felt that it was better to get it exactly how we wanted rather than rush it out not quite right. A special word must go out to our producer, Steve Ellis, who has gone over and above to help us create something we’re all hugely proud of.” The band released album single ‘55’ on 13th September 2025:
It’s review time! I’ve always been a fan of female-fronted bands, there’s not many about! So, when I find one I really like, I constantly listen to them on repeat, and this one is no different! Fun and catchy tracks that make you want to dance around your living room. Uniqueness, harmonisation, and so much passion. I want to highlight a few songs in particular which are my absolute favourites:
‘Pissing Me Off’ is loud and to the point, showing how people can be dicks! I relate a lot to this song because people piss me off too haha! It’s a great song to put on to let your anger out.
‘I Wish I Was French’ features the tune to ‘Frère Jacques‘, a traditional French nursery rhyme about a friar who has overslept and needs to ring the bells for morning prayers. It’s so unique, different, and very unexpected, which is the reason I like it so much.
‘Everybody’s On Drugs’ is so catchy, easy to sing along to, and is very hypnotising at times. It’s not just about recreational drugs, it’s also about people relying on their prescriptions just to get through day to day life. It’s very relatable.
‘I’m Not Alright’ is a great album, has some relatable moments, and helps you to let off some steam when you need to! Go give it a listen and find out for yourself.
