A melodic hardcore album which is fast and to-the-point!
Mid-Cheshire punks Kicked In The Teeth call themselves ‘Dad Rock’ in both their Facebook and Instagram bios. With members previously playing in bands Incisions and The Business. They are influenced by many bands, including, Bad Religion, Descendents, and Black Flag, while staying with their British and Northern roots. Their UK82/D-beat grip has brought them gigs alongside well-known popular bands Snuff, UK Subs, GBH, Cockney Rejects, and The Exploited, and have played alongside modern bands, including, The Drowns and Wonk Unit.
They had their album release gig for ‘Watling Street Chambers’ on 11th May 2025 at The Salty Dog, Northwich, and have many other gigs coming up, including the iconic Rebellion Punk Festival, Blackpool, in August 2025.

Announcing their forthcoming album ‘Watling Street Chambers’ on 25th February 2025, alongside its first single, ‘Savour The Victory’, with a Guns N Roses inspired music video. Vocalist Jay Concannon says of the track, “The first song on the album is hopeful. It’s a stark reminder that life is short, and what is most important in life is often right in front of you. A song about the beginnings of the strain of age, the daily grind, and the small victories we take from each day. We have our own problems, but we are lucky to be here, and this is an acknowledgement of that, as well as a determination to break the monotonous grind.”
Their second single ‘There Will Be Nothing’ was released on 19th March 2025, also with a music video. It has also been released on limited CD/cassette, with exclusive physical only B-side. Jay Concannon says “The premise of the song is about living in the moment. We can spend all the time in the world trying to look for a deeper meaning in the world and our place in it, and it’s fine to do so, but the feeling of forever barking up the wrong tree will always be prevalent. Take risks, have fun, live for now.”
The third and final single ‘Werewolves’ was released on 17th April 2025, with the music video being premiered on Vive Le Rock. Jay Concannon explains “It’s easy to lose faith in people. We try and be hopeful, but in today’s society, it sometimes feels like everyone is just out for themselves. Ignorance is on the rise and respect appears to be fading away. Werewolves is a song about keeping a distance from the modern hype machine and believing in what’s important – yourself.”
The album was recorded at Pressure Drop Studios, Stockport, and mixed and mastered by guitarist and vocalist Joe Penny himself.
This whole album was fun to review! It’s melodic, with lots of hardcore, lyrics which are to-the-point, fast, furious, plenty of rawness and emotion, and tight as fuck! You can definitely sing and dance along to these songs, and enjoy all the different vocal ranges Jay can produce.
