The punk firebrand adds his vocals to the band’s new single 'Traffic Lights'.
Asfixia Social have added one more element to their usual wide-ranging mix of punk, rap, ska, metal, dub, and Brazilian music – recruiting D.O.A. singer Joey “Shithead” Keithley.
The punk firebrand lends his vocals to the Brazilian punks’ new single, ‘Traffic Lights’, a thundering slice of ska-punk.
The song is the first release from Asfixia Social’s forthcoming fourth album, which follows on the heels of 2021’s ‘Asfixia Social no Estúdio Showliever (Ao Vivo)’.
Formed in 2007, the band is Kaneda Mukhtar (vocals/brass), Thiko Garcia (guitar/vocals), Leonardo Oliveira (bass/vocals), Douglas Barba (drums), and on keys/Fx Carlos Peixoto.
Meanwhile, Joey Shithead and D.O.A. have album number 19 on the way, a film about the band in the works, and are due to head over to Brazil for a three-week run in the country, as he told Punktuation last year.
