The hard-rockin' Montreal punk duo are riding the waves in this unique release!
Filmed on, yep, a big rusty ferry, on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River in Montreal, DVTR’s ‘Live on the Big Rusty Ferry‘ is a blistering video EP! Clocking in at a smidgen over a quarter of an hour, it features new live versions of bangers from the band’s debut ‘BONJOUR‘ EP, plus 2025 single ‘Né Pour Flâner‘. After two years of existence and crazy touring around the world, Demi Lune, Jean Divorce and their duo of masked «Lingus» met up on this relic of a vessel to create a unique video EP of live garage punk.
Since its creation in 2023, DVTR has definitely been shaking up the Canadian punk scene, racking up dazzling reviews, best of lists, and sold-out shows. This video EP release sees the band continue to break boundaries with their sounds, from the aural sledgehammer of ‘Anu Cuni‘ to garage banger ‘Les Flics‘ to catchy-as-hell ‘Né pour Flâner‘.
The darker, electronic influenced ‘Sound $ex Change‘ will get your head bobbing, ‘Vasectomia‘ twists and turns with punk intensity, DVTR crash through ‘Rhum Coke MD‘ at warp speed, then the band show off all their musical chops on namesake single ‘DVTR‘ to wrap up the recording.
‘Live on the Big Rusty Ferry‘ kicks off the new year with a bang after another incredible 12 months for the indomitable garage punks. 2025 saw DVTR tour around France, Mexico, Ontario & Quebec, smash sold out headline Montreal shows, bag themselves another GAMIQ award, and release live record ‘Live aux Foufs‘ in addition to two banging new singles.

Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
