The London Punk quartet go totally DIY on their current release!
Punk rock renegades Healthy Junkies unleashed their latest single ‘Gaslight’ on Halloween, a raw, melodic, and emotionally charged anthem about psychological manipulation and the fight to reclaim your identity. Combining fierce guitars, urgent vocals, and an anthemic chorus, ‘Gaslight’ channels the band’s trademark mix of punk energy and fearless honesty.
“It’s about waking up from the spell,” says guitarist Phil Honey-Jones. “When you realise someone’s been twisting reality around you and you finally take your power back.”
Tearing into the dark side of manipulation and control, ‘Gaslight’ is a fierce and emotionally charged punk anthem about breaking free from toxic influence:
Formed in London by singer Nina Courson and guitarist Phil Honey-Jones, Healthy Junkies fuse punk attitude with raw emotion and melodic flair. Known for their explosive live shows and fearless social commentary, the band has carved out a reputation on the UK underground scene for championing individuality, freedom, and self-expression.
Blending classic Punk energy with Post-punk and Grunge influences, Healthy Junkies deliver songs that are as thought-provoking as they are infectious, always pushing against the grain, always unapologetically themselves.
Healthy Junkies have once again delivered an electrifying song! This is also their first recording with new bass player Joe Gaskell, while drummer David Gaut continues to smash out the beats.
The song was recorded at home, 100% DIY, and it is solid testament to how experienced and talented these musicians are that ‘Gaslight’ sounds absolutely amazing! Phil and Nina’s vocal harmonies are unrivalled, and the HJs’ trademark razor-edged guitars are very much evident in this hard-hitting, hook-heavy single.

Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.

Did you know that we are 100% DIY? We run our own game. No one dictates to us, and no one drives what we can or cannot put on our pages – and this is how we plan to continue!
