Scarborough Punk Festival 2024 was an amazing event - top photographer Phil Thorns presents the best of the action!
We’re very lucky at Punktuation to be working with the top people in the scene – and this includes Phil Thorns, gig photographer (and occasional reviewer), who captured all of the bands and many of the audience at last year’s Scarborough Punk Festival in stunning monochrome!
Phil has now published the best of these in a fabulous 72 page book, featuring his awesome shots of Buzzcocks, Anti Nowhere League, Rezillos, Ruts DC, Chelsea, Goldblade, The Members, Hung Like Hanratty, and Face Up on Day One of the festival.

Covering Day Two in the book, there are yet more great photographs of Sham 69, UK Subs, The Meteors, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, 999, Electric Eel Shock, The Defects, Loaded 44, and Headstone Horrors!
The last several pages of the book are dedicated to the punters – the ‘Rogues Gallery’ – as Phil and his camera recorded images of the Punk spirits in and around the venue. If you were there in 2024, you could well be in one of these superb portraits!

This amazing souvenir book is available NOW – order your copy HERE!
Phil will also have copies available for you to purchase at this year’s SOLD OUT Scarborough Punk Festival, where once again he’ll be out and about, snapping all of the action both on and off the stage.

Scarborough Punk Festival 2025 takes place this weekend on 29th and 30th March – find more information HERE

Book review: ‘An Anarchy Of Demons’ By Charlie Harper
Punk legend Charlie Harper recounts many escapades and amusing moments from throughout his long life in his autobiography ‘An Anarchy Of Demons’. It will appeal
Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
