The Festival season isn't over - Undercover will host a fantastic line-up in Battlesbridge - join us there for 2 music-packed days!
Only a month to go until the unmissable Undercover Festival opens its doors at The Showground, Battlesbridge Antiques Centre nr Wickford, on 26th and 27th September 2025. With a jam-packed line-up featuring an impressive array of established bands, plus a top selection of newer and younger local bands, we’re really looking forward to it!
Organiser of this independent grassroots festival Mick Moriarty says; “We try for a lineup and experience that is something different and appeals to a crowd definitely not catered for elsewhere. We believe we we have struck a chord with people who like their music full of the passion and energy that only acts like ours generate.“
Get your juices flowing with some information about the headliners across the two days:
SUBHUMANS – This legendary punk band from the South West will be back in the UK in September for Undercover after another long tour of the USA and Europe. Singer Dick Lucas says: “Undercover Festivals are always a good crack, and Mick always gets a great lineup sorted, the September one will be no exception!”
SKIDS – Skids are a Scottish punk rock and new wave band with a string of hits to their name, formed in Dunfermline in 1977, including ever present frontman, Richard Jobson who tells us he “Can’t wait to be part of the Undercover Festival. Heard great things about it. The Skids will unleash a new set as we start to prepare for the Absolute Game tour. We’re ready! Are you?“
POPES OF CHILLITOWN – London’s finest Ska Punk favourites, packing them in all over the UK. Bassist Arvin Bancil can’t wait either: “We’re really looking forward to playing Undercover Festival in Essex this year. The line-up is pure vibes, and we’re pleased to finally be a part of it.“
EDDIE & THE HOT RODS – Essex’s finest sons, originally best known for their 1977 UK top ten hit ‘Do Anything You Wanna Do‘, are keeping the spirit of the Hot Rods alive. Drummer Simon Bowley is prepared: “Eddie & the Hot Rods are excited to be playing Undercover Fest in Battlesbridge on Sept 26th / 27th. So many great bands playing a great festival on our home turf and we cannot wait!!”
Check out the posters below to see the full line-up of bands on the Main Stage and in the Acoustic Den:

Day tickets have now been released, but they are expected to sell out soon, as they are on sale in limited numbers.

Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
