More quality hardcore from Milan!
Who’d have thought that Milan would be a breeding ground for quality hardcore? It wasn’t long ago that we reviewed (and loved) the recent album from Aurevoir Sòfia, and now here comes a beast of an EP from Already Buried, which has us wanting to start some serious windmilling and side-to-side pit action in our own front rooms.
In truth, you wouldn’t guess that this is the band’s debut release, so self-assured do they sound on the likes of ‘Cult Of Breath’ and ‘Nice Shoes’. Our favourite track has to be ‘Pusher Price’, with its yell of “Are you ready for the fuckin’ truth?” kicking off some breakneck-speed hardcore punk rage, before some seriously mosh-worthy riffing and gang vocals bubble up from the mix.
Admittedly, ‘Bad Things Happen And People Get Hurt’ is nothing that fans of the likes of Hatebreed, Terror and Madball won’t have heard before, but if you’re going to tread a well-worn musical path, you might as well do a good job of it – and that’s exactly what Already Buried have done here. Keep an eye on this lot.

EP Review: French punks Missratched drop ‘Miettes’
Meet Missratched. Despite not being known to many, the staunchly-DIY Lyon four-piece have actually been going since 2012 under various lineups, with demo and EP
I spend my days teaching English to foreign students, and my evenings attending as many gigs as possible. Raised mainly on a diet of 90s third-wave punk, my tastes have grown to include just about anything from trad ska to thrash metal. The Ramones are my musical gods.
Did you know that we are 100% DIY? We run our own game. No one dictates to us, and no one drives what we can or cannot put on our pages – and this is how we plan to continue!
