Watch out UK, these LA rockers are ready to blow your socks off..
West coast US rockers Crymwav (pronounced ‘Crimewave’) are crossing the pond to play a show at the famous Iron Maiden pub the Cart & Horses in London, England this Friday 28th March. They’ve recently released a new single, ‘Sense Of Adventure’, a blend of the energetic punk sound of Angel City with the gothic rock flair of The Damned. It follows their late 2024 release ‘Contagious’. Both singles were produced by JJ Blair (Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, Weezer), and are a taste of what’s to come from their upcoming album, slated for a summer 2025 release.
Also on the bill are Syteria, who feature Girlschool lead guitarist Jackie Chambers, and Star Circus.
“You’re just no fun.. just like Iggy says..”
Crymwav were formed in 2022 from the ashes of Los Angeles rock and rollers Smash Fashion, when guitarist/songwriter Roger Deering and lead guitarist Lloyd Stuart Casson teamed up with Goatsnake and ex Obsessed drummer Greg Rogers and bassist Bruce Braddock. All of similar age, and a shared baptism into the music world through the American hardcore scene in the 80s, punk, post punk, goth, NWOBM as well as Thin Lizzy, UFO, and The Ruts.
“Crymwav started to come together for me while I was staying in London around 3 years ago,” says Deering.. “I went to London to visit my girlfriend who was staying in Ladbroke Grove, a songwriting spree came to me.. I wanted to channel the bands from that area.. Hawkwind, The Clash, Killin
In November 2023, Crymwav self-released a 6 song EP ‘24/7’, recorded in downtown LA. The EP received rave reviews, and considerable radio airplay worldwide. Classic Rock considered it “A very tasty combo.” Guitar World Magazine reckoned it was “..cut through with the melodic sensibilities of Cheap Trick. Every track sounds like an instant stadium-filling anthem.”
If you’re keen to see what Crymwav are all about, then get yourself along to the Cart & Horses, 1 Maryland Point, Stratford, London, E15 1PF on Friday! TICKETS HERE

Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
