The newly invigorated Hard-Ons announce their Aussie tour dates – their first tour with their shiney new, dynamic frontman, You Am I’s Tim Rogers.
Thanks to the fantastic response to the Hard-Ons last two singles (the band’s first releases with new singer Tim Rogers ) and the building anticipation for their new album, I’m Sorry Sir, That Riff’s Been Taken, the Hard-Ons have decided to hit the road with their new line-up.
The announcement last month of Tim Rogers’ recruitment was met with a lot of excitement, slight bemusement in some quarters, and yes, the inevitable few grumbles from old fans. However, the new line-up is unlikely to give fans, old or new, anything to complain about.
Both new singles ( “Lite As A Feather” and its predecessor “Hold Tight”) show that the band is in magical form right now – magic created by the fact that Tim Rogers is one of the band’s biggest fans.
Tim recently said: “I’m a fan first and foremost. [They were] the first band I loved that I could see, the first band I got my nose broken too, [and the first band] I lost my hearing to. There are so many firsts. And then to be in the rehearsal room… I looked over at Blackie’s amp and went, ‘Oh, that’s the amp.’ And I saw the SG, and I was like, ‘That’s the SG.’ I’ve been watching him play with those since 1986.”
Directed by Descent Into the Maelstrom: The Radio Birdman Story director Jonathan Sequeira, the video for Lite As A Feather is action-packed and a lot of fun and will also appeal to anyone who loves ’70s bubblegum cards!
I’m Sorry Sir, That Riff’s Been Taken is out on 8th October, and the tour kicks off on the Gold Coast, Australia, in March 2022, taking the band down the east coast and finishing up in Melbourne in April.
