British/American punk rockers have dropped the video for another banger with I Lie to Me.
Hot on the heels of their latest track, IDGAF, As It Is, have dropped their dynamic new track, I Lie To Me, via Fearless Records.
“I Lie To Me is about the days where you wake up and try, only to end up exactly where you started.” Singer Patty Walters shares insight into the track. ?“Where the only distance walked is the step or two taken beyond the threshold of your limits. Because it hurts to fail, but it hurts so much more when you try.
“I Lie To Me is that unrestrained resentment that inspired this record, and it’s ironic how that defeated apathy led to one of my personal favourites on this upcoming album of ours. If these words resonate with you, then fuck, sorry you’ve ever felt as shit as I did when we wrote this one. If you lie to you to get through, that’s okay; we do too.”
I Lie to Me joins IDGAF as the next chapter of As It Is, as the band continue to work on music for their upcoming fourth album.
As It Is released their third studio album, The Great Depression, in 2018. The band delved into brave new territory conceptually and also took a sonic leap forward. The Great Depression, produced by MACHINE (Lamb of God, Every Time I Die), is a layered and technically accomplished record. In 2019 the band reimagined the entire album and releasing the songs as a series of four EPs.
“We started writing the next chapter of As It Is in 2019,” the band shares. “We had written a lot of cool songs, but none of them was telling our story or communicating how we were actually feeling. When IDGAF happened, it was the first thing that incapsulated the heartbreak, defeat, and disappointment we felt with ourselves and the world around us. When the pandemic happened, and the world shut down, that’s when we really spiralled. We’re unwell, and we have been. IDGAF is all in the title. It’s for all of us, and it’s yours now.”
The latest track, I Lie to Me, is out now on all streaming services.

Everyone should have a soundtrack playing loudly in the background of their life. I was born moshing to my own beat and have never swayed from my love of music. Spreading my passion through the written word is my soul’s purpose. My punk heart beats loudly with the rhythm of my rock soul. I plan to continue to mosh like no one gives a shit.
