French punks show us we don’t all have to be the same to share the passion and energy!
Sélestat punk quintet Lueur, (formerly Punky Tunes until changing their name in 2025), formed back in 2021 and are composed of veterans from the HxC punk scene. Anti-fascist, pro-feminist, animal-friendly, LGBTQIA+, earth protection, and DIY values, this band relates to so many people.
Influenced by bands like NOFX, The Interrupters, Pennywise, and Sick Of It All, the band are hardcore and grunge with the fun and unifying spirit of 90s melodic punk rock. Their songs are fast, fun, and energetic, with a lot of passion and a positive attitude.
Lueur released their album ‘Half of Humanity’ on 18th June 2026 with 15 tracks of fun (essential to the spirit of the 90s) melodic punk rock. It’s also a timely reminder that half of humanity are equally valid in society, although that’s not how many currently see us…

It’s review time! You can definitely hear the spirit of 90s melodic punk rock throughout the whole album. The hardcore energy hits hard with the raw and melodic vocals bringing it together to make the perfect combination. This French band prove to us that you don’t all have to be the same to share the same passion for punk! Their tracks are infectious! I honestly couldn’t stop listening to them. Fast, fun, and energetic is accurate as fuck to describe them. You can hear how much the whole band enjoys what they do.
Marie’s voice reminds me of Roxy from Face Up in some parts during ‘What We All Feel’, which is of course a compliment, being so powerful and raw. I always love discovering female-fronted bands, women are just as powerful and passionate as men can be.
I love the whole album, and I am so happy to have discovered Lueur. I am looking forward to hearing what else they have in store for us in the future. Go check them out for yourself!
